When I think of Bali, all I can imagine is lush green jungle, rice paddies, beautiful waterfall and an amazing rain forest. In my recent trip to Bali I was lucky enough to stay in one of the most beautiful luxury resort, set in breathtaking famous jungle backdrop at picturesque The Kayon Ubud resort.The Kayon Resort literally has it all from hanging infinity pool, rain forest jungle, river rice paddies and a private waterfall (Yes the resort has its own water fall). Pictures don’t do justice to this magical property set in the jungle and overlooking the Petanu river. This resort is one of those properties which you have to see in real life to believe. Location: The Kayon resort is located 15 minutes from center of Ubud right next to Petanu river in Kepitu village.
Arrival: I arrived late afternoon and was warmly greeted by the staff and was offered delicious signature Balinese drink made from ginger, lime and honey. After smooth and speedy check in one of the staff gave us quick trip to the whole resort and I literally felt I am walking in to one of the Tomb Raider movie set.
Room : The Kayon Resort has three different room types; Valley Deluxe Rooms, Kayon River Suites and River Edge Pool Villas. I stayed in their valley deluxe and room are furnished with traditional Balinese wooden and bamboo furniture and have balconies overlooking the jungle and valley and I could literally hear the sound of river and water fall which made me sleep so easily. I loved the four post bed draped with silky white mosquito nets and the bathroom was incredible, equipped with stylish toiletries and signature terrazzo bath tubs overlooking the lush jungle.
They also offered me complimentary flower bath tub which is a perfect spot to spend time with your self and for a while I felt I was a princess in one of the Disney movies.

Facilities: The resort has stunning infinity pool, in house Kepitu restaurant, Serayu spa, a canyon jetty overlooking the beautiful water fall and complimentary morning and evening yoga.
Food: The resort has its own in-house restaurant called Kepitu which offers breakfast, high tea and Dinner . The Restaurant is set in the center of the resort with 180 degrees view over the pool and beautiful jungle landscape. Breakfast was part every room package package and you get a lovely breakfast with such a dreamy view. Breakfast in Kayon was definitely one of the best breakfasts I had in Bali, it was like a feast every day. They offer different breakfast options including traditional Balinese breakfast, american breakfast, Continental breakfast and special kayon breakfast. All the breakfast menu comes with unlimited smoothies, teas and coffees. My favourite part of the breakfast was delicious Nasai gorang and Green rice pudding (yes they serve it for breakfast and it was the best Nasai Gorang I had in Bali )
The resort also offers complimentary evening high tea which include tea, coffee, local dessert and some pastries. between 3 to 5 p.m. For dinner they offer Kayon exotic BBQ night every Wednesday, Balinese culture dinner every Friday and Indonesian satay night ever Monday.
The Children below 15 years old is not permitted to dine at Kepitu Restaurant due to hotel concept which is set for Honeymooner, Romance, Healing and Relaxation
The pool: One of the main reasons staying at The Kayon resort is the stunning infinity pool surrounded by lush jungle. The pool is kayon shaped ( kayon means tree of life which reflects in every corner of the resort) and perched on 10 meters high mound in front of the restaurant with awesome view over the rice filed and jungles valley giving it appearance of floating pool .
The Kayon Resort also offers complimentary yoga session daily at 7.0 a.m and 2.p.m in yoga pavilion on upper level facing to the infinity pool and jungles.
The spa: The resort also has an in house Serayu spa for the people who love life and want to relax and unwind to make the most of their trip. The spa offers from traditional Balinese massage, stone therapy to foot reflexology. You can also choose different body care treatments and pampering packages for hair, body and nails from their spa menu.
Another complimentary service resort offer is private shuttle service every one hour to the center of Ubud which was so helpful .
Over all I had an amazing time at kayon resort, and I can’t even think of single thing about resort that was not perfect, and I was especially surprised with their hospitality and flawless experience being a very new hotel. If you’re looking for the perfect romantic gateway , or to spend your Honeymoon in perfect picturesque location I highly recommend the Kayon resort Ubud.
