Dubai – Top tourist destinations

It’s been good and beautiful one year since I settled in this dream city,The more I explore it the more I fall in Love with the city famously called #mydubai by expats and locals. There are people from all walks of life. Varied religion, different countries and part of the world settled in this amazing city. Dubai is becoming top and one of the favorite tourist destinations in the world, famous for world’s highest skyscraper to world most famous hotel, paradise for shopping Lover’s.  Has a lot of thing to offer when it comes to fashion, luxury, entertainment, and last but not least bright nightlife. There’s so much to see and do here, there are a lot of popular tourist destination while there are hidden less known jewel places, and these are my top and favourite list of  places to Visit as tourist and Visitor’s.

Burj khalifa (the worlds tallest tower) برج خليفة‎: Located at the heart of Dubai and its people, in down town emmar boulevard area. Burj khalifa is tallest man made tower in the world. The tower is center for the world’s finest dining, top hotels, shopping and Home for world’s elite.

At the top: Highlight of Burj khalifa is observatory deck and the view from at the top. At the top provide day and night unparalleled view of Dubai from 148th floor 555 meters 1,821 feet (highest in world) 24 floors higher than its predecessor. Standard Visit at the top cost you around 500 AED. If book in advance or online, it will cost you lot cheaper.

Burj khalifa also features:

  • The world’s highest nightclub (on the 144th floor).
  • The world’s highest restaurant (Atmosphere on the 122nd floor)
  • And the worlds second highest swimming pool (on the 76th floor).

Burj AL ARAB (برج العرب ): The famous sail shaped silhouette is world’s most luxurious, 4th tallest hotel and only seven star hotel in the world, The building itself is one of the most photographed monuments in the world and is recognized as the most iconic symbol of Dubai. The building stands on artificial island and it is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. No trip to Dubai will complete without seeing it and posing in front of it, you can view and take photo from the public jumairah beach next to it. The Burj Al Arab is best viewed from Madinat jumairah and jumairah beach hotel

Disappointing fact for many Visitor’s that, unless you are guest at hotel or have advanced reservation in one of the restaurant, it’s not possible to take look in the and around the hotel.

Advance reservation is essential for all of the Burj Al Arab restaurants. It can be made by phone or e-mail, but be prepared to be asked for credit card number, because a no-show fee is charged, and to write down a pass code you will need to get past security. Also, be aware of the dress code that is smart casual or semi-formal depending on the chosen restaurant and time.

Dubai fountain/ Dubai mall (دبي مول): Dubai fountain is The worlds most amazing and in fact one of the worlds best and largest choreographed dancing fountain system located on 30 acre man made Burj khalifa lake, the fountain is animated with performances set to light and music. It is visible from every point on the lake promenade and many neighboring structures. The dubai fountain perform daily.

Timing:

  • Sunday to Wednesday: Noon 1.00 p.m and 1.30 p.m.
  • evening; 6.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m. every 30 minutes                                                                                                            Thursday to Saturday: Noon: 1.00 p.m and 1.30 p.m.                                                                                                      evening; 6.00 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. every 30 minutes

Performance repertoire include Sama Dubai, baba yetu, shik shak shok (Arabic dance number), all night long, I always Love you (Whitney Houston), thriller (Michael Jackson), prayer (Celine Dion) and top most song from the world.

Dubai mall:(دبي مول ): Biggest shopping destination Dubai mall is one of the world largest mall located in downtown Dubai, spread over 13 million square foot. The Dubai Mall is Home to just about every major fashion brand in the world. Adorned with a 440,000 square feet Fashion Avenue, which is recognized as the largest collection of fashion brands under one roof anywhere in the world, The Dubai Mall is set to become the next fashion capital of the world. The Dubai Mall is a leisure and entertainment destination for the entire family. Children can role-play at KidZania, a unique ‘Edu-tainment’ concept where they learn how to be an adult in a fun, meaningful way.

Spend the day at the SEGA Republic indoor theme park and get a high adrenaline rush or enjoy learning how to skate at the indoor Dubai Ice Rink. Everyone can watch the Dubai Aquarium or Visit the Underwater Zoo.to learn something new. Visit At The Top, Burj Khalifa, the gateway to the tallest building in the world. Or be spoilt for choice at the 22-screen Reel Cinemas playing the latest films from around the world.

Fine dining restaurants and world-class food courts are laced strategically throughout the mall as well as outdoors along the Waterfront Promenade. All with breathtaking views of the world’s tallest tower for a multi-sensory dining encounter.

Desert Safari: The one and the best safari experience: a must for everyone who is Visiting UAE. A memory to share with your family and friends back Home, this is one safari you cant do back Home. I recommend it highly and it will be worth every penny spent. One must get a camera when going to a desert safari in Dubai as the views are breath taking and awesome, also one should wear comfortable cloths and avoid jewelry or expensive watch and cell phones, as there is no signal at the camps. Do try the Arabic coffee at the camp and shake your belly with our belly dancer.

A lot of thing can be done in desert safari like, Belly dancing, camel trekking, camel riding, henna painting, sand ski, shisha, and BBQ dinner.

image023Ski Dubai: Ski Dubai is the first an indoor ski resort in Middle East  situated in the mall of emirates; it offers an amazing snow setting to enjoy skiing’s, snowboarding, tobogganing or just playing in the snow.Ski Dubai is a unique mountain-themed attraction that offers you the opportunity to enjoy real snow in Dubai all year round. Almost everything you will need of equipment is provided with the slope pass (jacket, trousers, skis, ski boots, snowboard, snowboard Boots, ski poles, disposable socks, helmets for Children), except gloves and hats (for hygiene reasons). However, if you don’t have your own on you, you can buy them in the adjoining ski shop (gloves start at around Dh 10, hats at Dh 30). If you bring your own equipment and/or clothing you’ll get a 5% discount on each. Also, you will need a locker – rental is Dh 20 and can be used by several people.image031

Dubai creek: For the taste of old Dubai sea salt lagoon Dubai creek is must Visit. Visit to Dubai Creek also gives insight into the history of the city and its place in the Arabian Gulf. The Creek, a natural seawater inlet that cuts through the center of the city, is the historic focal point of life in Dubai. A stroll along its banks evokes the city’s centuries-old trading traditions. You can take an abra (water taxi) across the creek, from either side – on the Bur Dubai side go for a stroll along the paved promenade and take in glorious views over the water, and the dhows from the water. A stroll around the wharf offers a picturesque glimpse of Dubai’s trading heritage.

Dubai marina (مرسى دبي ): Dubai marina is a district and an aw-inspiring artificial canal city, built along a stretch of Persian Gulf shoreline. Dubai Marina was inspired by the Concord Pacific Place development along False Creek in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The marina is set in the backdrop of the amazing buildings of JBR and has great views, walkways and boat rides available. It is amazing either during the day or in the evenings. Dubai Marina is the largest man-made marina in the world Set in the heart of ‘new Dubai’, and is Home to super yachts, Dubai Marina Yacht Club (DMYC) has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the renowned private yacht clubs of the region.
